I am self-employed Structural Engineer who initially trained with local and county authorities from 1980 – 1993, then with consulting engineers from 1994 – 2000 before entering loss adjusting in June 2000.
Within the roles of Structural Technician, Principal Technical Assistant and Project Engineer, my responsibilities included the preparation of structural design calculations and details, the checking of other engineer’s work, attending pre and post contract meetings, site works supervision, the preparation of structural and dilapidation survey reports. I have worked extensively with other professional disciplines while in these roles.
2000 – 2016: I entered the world of loss adjusting in June 2000, becoming a specialist in dealing with subsidence claims. Over the years I worked as either a loss adjuster or claims specialist for a variety of employers including the loss adjusters Property and Casualty Services (PCS), Capita Insurance Services, GAB Robins (UK) Ltd, Infront Innovations Ltd and Davies Group Ltd. I have also worked (twice) for the insurer Royal and Sun Alliance (RSA), as well and the insurance section of Lloyds TSB banking Group.
In these roles I was a specialist in subsidence technical analysis, investigation, mitigation, repairs and recovery action on a project managed basis in London and the south east of England region. I liaised directly with policyholders, brokers, insurers, claim handlers, recovery experts, third party engineers/adjusters, loss assessors, leaseholders, tenants and other interested parties in relation to claims management.
2016: This was the year that I decided to go alone. I set up H Levy Consulting Limited and now undertake structural calculations, offer structural advice and offer insurance claims advice to all to clients, building contractors, Architects and Surveyors. I can also arrange to have plans drawn up by introducing you to one of my associates.
No job is too small for me to look at for you.
